I know I know...I said I was going to try to post a new blog every week. I am like 3 weeks behind right now. Forgive me. I am a busy mommy. Hahaha. That is my new excuse for everything. Maddy finally said "Mama." Granted, she was angry because I put her in her pack and play so I could clean up a bit and thats the only reason she said it. She is a pretty smart girl. I have been begging her for weeks to say "Mama" and she would just look at me and laugh and say "Dada." When I want her to just chill and entertain herself for 15 minutes she screams bloody murder and mumbles a "Maaaama...mamamamamamamammaaaaa...maaaamaaa." I am a SUCKER and I screamed "YOU SAID IT!!!! OK OK I WILL TAKE YOU OUT OF YOUR LITTLE JAIL!!!!!!!" No cleaning up for me that night.
Ok, here is some picture overload. Kaitlyn got a tricycle for her birthday in April and Maddy has decided she loves it and wants to live on it. She just sits on the seat, holds the handle bars and makes her jungle noises until someone pushes her.
The firm had their annual Florida Marlins CPA Appreciation night and took us all to a game. Maddy had a good time, and she was very well behaved until the Marlins scored a homerun in the 9th inning. She DID NOT enjoy the celebration. My poor baby looked so startled and confused and cried and cried and cried. Here are a few pics...
We have been getting a lot of crappy weather lately, but last Saturday was a beautiful day. We got to take Maddy in the pool (a real one this time) and she LOVED IT! I knew she would. She is my daughter after all. I refuse to have a child that is scared of the water, so this is excellent progress. I want to start taking swimming classes with her and get it done before she ever has a chance to say she is scared. Imani doesnt know how to swim and is just now starting to be more comfortable in the water, but she still wigs out when Adam is holding her in the deep water. One day about 2 years ago she actually screamed "Oh God, someone please help me." Being the excellent responsible reassuring and comforting parents that we are, we laughed at her. Thank God the fear is starting to retreat.
Here are a few pics from our day at the pool and our evening of playing and watching movies that same night.
Thats it from our end. I promise I will try my best to keep up better...yeah right. We all know thats not really going to happen. Hehehehe.

This Mommy Makes Her Baby Food
I have a new hobby. I make baby food. At first, I was just buying the Gerber stuff, but that got a little expensive once Maddy started eating more solids. Also, it doesnt taste too good. I taste everything I give her. Why would I make her eat something that I dont think is good? Dont get me wrong, I mean, yeah I dont like peas, but I still feed them to her. Even though I dont like peas, I do know how they should taste, and let me tell you, Gerber peas taste like ass, not like peas. So I decided to start making her food myself. I thought it was going to be a huge project that I would give up on after the first time, but I really enjoy doing it. I feel so good about feeding her good food and knowing that all she is getting in the food I give her is what I put into it. No preservatives. The best thing of all, Maddy freaking LOVES it! It is all so so easy. My girls on mymommytime.com have given me some really good tips and techniques. I took some pictures of the batch I made last night. This batch will last her weeks! If any of you are considering doing this for your little ones, I am happy to share everything I have learned so far.

Busy Weekend
I live for the weekends now. I love spending time with my family. Friday night was a blast. Roxy and John were down from New York for the week, so they came over. Jenny & Jose came with their son JD and Camille and Cassy came too. We ate pizza and chicken wings, had a few drinks, Cam brought dessert and we played Guitar Hero and Wii. It was so nice to hang out with my friends. Roxy got some really cute pictures of Maddy and JD playing. As soon as she emails them to me I will post them.
Saturday was our nieces birthday party so we had to recover from Friday night and get everything ready to go over there. We got there early because I was making chocolate covered fruit for one them. My easy sweets were a hit. Those kids went to town on them. We got a few really nice pics of the 4 of us.
Sunday was a lazy day. Diann came over with Sal and the kids and grandma and just hung out for a while. Maddy was a little cranky from her busy Friday and Saturday night so she was not such a happy baby early in the day. At 4:00 we released 4 pink balloons for Kayleigh Ann Freeman. If you dont know her story, here is a link http://kayleighannefreeman.blogspot.com/. Grab your tissues if you plan to read it. This little angel is in heaven now and we wanted to do something to acknowledge her and show how much she has touched our lives. I get chills thinking about how many people did this at the exact same moment in their different parts of the country. Rest in peace baby girl.
So there, that was our weekend. Maybe I will shock everyone and post something during the week!

Finally Getting Started
I try to keep up with all of my friends blogs as best as possible, so I figured it was about time I started one myself. This is going to be all about "The Murphy Family," but I will probably be the only Murphy that ever updates anything. I actually created the template for my blog before Maddy was even born. She is 7 months old now, so you see how dedicated I have been to doing this. I am thinking this is a good way for family and friends to keep up with what is going on with the 4of us.
Here is a quick rundown of how we all are:
Adam: Working for Wholefoods (thanks Mom) and on his way to going back to TSA. I cannot flipping wait until this happens. It will make things so much easier. I knew he was a good Daddy when we were dating, but watching him with Maddy has shown me so much about him. She lights up when she sees him and I hope she will be that way forever.
Me: Still working at BNCPAS...10 years in January. I love my job, but what I would love even more is to be a Stay At Home Mommy! Having Maddy has changed me so much. Now I see things through her eyes, not mine.
Imani: She is gonna be 7 in August! Time flies! She was still waddling around, sucking a pacifier and wearing diapers when I met Adam. She is doing great in school, she has made the honor roll every grading period this year. She is also an AMAZING big sister. Maddy lucked out.
Maddy: Maddy is the energizer bunny. She just keeps going and going and going. She is crawling all over the place, pulling herself up to stand, and walking (more like tiptoeing) holding on to the couch, ottoman, coffee table, etc. I cant believe she is doing this already. My life needs a slow motion button. I dont want this to happen so fast!!!
Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure...lol. I will try to keep the pictures as updated as possible so that those of you who dont get to see her in person often can at least see how she is growing...
